If you are one of those people who has a do-it-yourself mentality and likes the idea of a vintage-style machine with a modern look, then the Janome 712T Treadle Machine is the machine for you. Janome's 712T Treadle Machine allows you to sew with no electrical power, but it still comes equipped with all the standard functions a sewist needs. Ten stitches, a five-piece feed dog system, drop feed, snap-on presser feet, and a stitch selection dial are some of the fantastic features that are included in the 712T. Janome's 712T Treadle Machine has a flatbed design to fit existing sewing cabinetry. A treadle-operated sewing table (not included) is required to run the 712T.

10 Built-in Stitches
Sew straight stitches, utility stitches, or a four-step buttonhole with the 712T Treadle machine. It has an easy-to-read stitch chart on the face plate with the corresponding stitch selection dial beside it.

Bobbin Winder
Enjoy the convenience of a built-in bobbin winder on this treadle machine. You can keep multiple bobbins on hand, so you have the perfect thread color for every project! Winding bobbins on the 712T differ slightly from your typical machine. You will need to turn the stop motion knob counterclockwise to disengage the clutch so you can fill your bobbin. Pedal the machine and wind the thread until the bobbin is full. Once finished, turn the stop motion knob clockwise to re-engage the clutch, and you are ready to go. *The machine will not sew until the stop motion knob is tightened.

Manual Tension
Manual tension dials give you greater control of your stitches. The setting dial is easily adjusted to create a perfectly balanced stitch based on your fabric type and weight. Ranging from zero to nine on the knob, these lines allow quilters to dial in their tension settings incrementally. If the bobbin thread appears on the right side of your fabric, then the needle tension is too tight, and if your needle thread is too loose, it will appear on the wrong side of the material.

Extra High Presser Foot Lift
The extra-high presser foot lift can accommodate the heavy fabrics and multiple layers that standard home sewing machines struggle to sew. Sew multiple layers of denim, heavy fleece, and thick quilts with ease. It can be raised approximately 1/4" higher than a normal position.

Needle Plate & Top Loading Bobbin
With the top-loading, drop-in bobbin on the 712T, you can smoothly and quickly change out your bobbin without losing too much time. Use class 15 plastic bobbins with this machine for the best possible sewing experience. A clear cover plate is paired with the top-loading bobbin so you can manually monitor your bobbin thread levels. The metal needle plate has built-in measurements, so you can get that perfect quarter seam.

Reverse Lever
Use the reverse stitch button to secure your stitches. This feature is excellent at preventing your ends from fraying or unraveling. To use this button, hold down the reverse stitch lever, and your machine will sew in reverse and reinforce your stitches.

Adjustable Stitch Length & Drop Feed
With the stitch length dial on the front, you can select the most suitable stitch length for most fabrics. You can even sew stretch stitches by turning the dial to S.S. Remember, the higher the number, the longer the stitch length. The 712T has a maximum stitch length of 4mm. Lower your feed dogs by turning the dial to to the woven fabric symbol.

Easy Threading
With its printed thread guides, you can easily thread this machine in seconds.
