Seam Tightening System™
Janome’s luxury Seam Tightening System™ uses a spring instead of the looper thread tension dial to lessen the slack in the looper thread. This creates tight, flat, and sturdy stitches on thick fabrics and looser stitches on materials that require more flexibility.
Quick Reference Charts
Stationed on the front of the machine for easy access is a full-color reference guide that helps you adjust for a soft or tighter stitch without checking your manual. The chart shows available stitches and displays the optimal tension settings for both loose and tight seams. Also, on the machine, in the looper area, is another color-coded threading chart that makes threading the machine guess-free and easy.
Foot Pressure Adjustment
Accommodate various fabric types and thicknesses by adjusting the pressure of the foot. Add more pressure to thinner fabrics and less pressure to thicker fabrics to achieve professional results.
VARIABLE STITCH LENGTH & DIFFERENTIAL FEED
The CoverPro 1000CPX offers you more control of your stitches with its variable stitch length and differential feed. The differential feed allows you to control the speed at which your front and back feed dogs move and has a differential feed ratio of 0.5 to 2.25. This will help when sewing stretchy fabric and prevent rippling. The variable stitch length is also adjustable from 1mm to 4mm for different techniques like basting or gathering.

Snap-On Presser Foot Compatible
Easily go from one presser foot to the next on Janome's CoverPro 1000CPX; no screwdriver required! This coverstitch machine makes it easy to swap between your included and optional presser feet.
Free Arm
The CoverPro 1000CPX makes it super easy to finish sleeves, cuffs, waistbands, and other hard-to-reach seams with its free arm. To access the free arm, remove the auxiliary bed on the machine, and you are ready to sew. Once you are through, you can snap the bed back into place.
VERTICAL NEEDLE DROP
Like a traditional sewing machine, the CoverPro also has vertical needle action. This up-and-down motion allows for improved stitching. Slanted needles tend to shift/push fabrics, and that may damage your materials. This up-and-down movement protects your materials and helps to prevent needle deflection.
Easy Threading
Easily thread your upper needles in moments with its easy-to-see color-coded thread guide. Best of all, the lower loopers are even easier to thread! Pull the thread through, push the looper closed, and you're ready to get started. Also included is a needle threader if you have any struggles.
Ample Work Space
The 1000CPX has one of the largest sewing spaces available on any coverstitch or serger. The bed measures 4" by 5-1/2". With this much space, you can actually make a cover stitch in the middle of a garment.
