2 and 3 Letter Monogramming
Personalize every gift and project by monogramming two or three-letter initials on towels, bags, clothes, and more. Six monogramming fonts are included so you can find the most suitable style for your project: Gothic, Cyrillic, Cyrillic 2, Cyrillic 3, Script, and Cheltenham.
180 Built-in Designs + 30 Bonus Designs
The 180 built-in designs included on the MC550E cover everything from florals to birds, people, abstract designs, dinosaurs, space, and more. Exclusive to the 550ELE, you also get in-the-hoop, Sashiko, and Wedding designs! The library features large thumbnails to make finding the right match even easier. The bonus USB designs are exclusively for the larger hoops. If you are looking for something else, you can design your own patterns and transfer them to your machine with the flash drive.
Embroidery Field
Depending on the size and complexity of your design, Janome's Memory Craft 550ELE can embroider between 400 and 860 stitches per minute. It has a maximum embroidery area of 7.9" by 14". Included as a standard accessory, the extra wide extension table ensures your embroidery projects are always properly supported while expanding your workspace.
EMBROIDERY EDITING
Customize your embroidery as much as you want with all the editing features packed into the 550ELE. You can resize, combine, duplicate, flip, arc, group, drag & drop, zoom, trace, and pick your colors. This embroidery machine also allows you to program jump thread trimming, has flexible stitch traveling by units of 1, 10, and 100, and has an auto-return post-thread break.
Built-in Needle Threader
The Memory Craft 550ELE features a built-in needle threader, removing the guesswork, near-misses, and frustration! No more struggling to thread a needle by hand! Effortlessly thread your machine needle in seconds without straining your eyes. The needle threader can be used with a size 11 to 14 needle and thread weights between 50 and 90. Using 30-weight or thicker threads with the needle threader is not recommended.
Bobbin Winder
The MC550ELE includes a built-in bobbin winder with a plate and cutting blade. Plus, it will automatically stop winding once the bobbin is full. This handy tool makes it easier to swap out your bobbins, especially with the bobbin sensor letting you know you are getting low. The top-loading, full rotary hook bobbin can be accessed with the push of a button on the needle plate.
Hoops
Included with the 550E are four embroidery hoops. The four hoops will work with most projects, especially for beginners. Sizes include 5.5" x 5.5", 5.5" x 7.9", 7.9" x 7.9", 7.9" x 14".
AcuStitch Software
AcuStitch software allows you to convert stitches into embroidery patterns and shapes. This software has several shapes and configurations, like polygons, circles, and ellipses, as well as straight lines and squares. Designs can be created automatically with simple settings. Corner alignment, center alignment, start point, and endpoint alignment can also be done automatically. By changing the angle setting, you can create arcs and variations of your design.
